The WISDOM podcast S2 Bonus Episode 3
Here I offer the ways in which to think about presence during meditation and how to live in a state of presence in the moments of your life.
Presence teaches you how to willfully enjoy life’s moments, how to allow them in; to accept what they have to offer; to flourish in the experience of them, and to trust that everything by means of each singular moment is meaningful; each moment is significant.
When you practice presence, you become attuned to what is around you. You become more aware of the inward dwelling space of your inner being; and what allows you to witness yourself – your true nature – as the purest aspect of what you are.
Try this simple practice of presence for a moment with me. Close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. Soften into what you feel. Notice your heartbeat beneath the hand that you gently hold unto your heart center.
Presence is about joining in the moments of your life as they are already unfolding; and riding the wave of each moment; being one with them.
It is in this way that the practice of presence opens you. It draws you into the richness of the life you are living; and for seeing and experiencing more.
Sending you great love....

THE NEW CONSCIOUSNESS
The WISDOM podcast S2 Bonus Episode 2
It is here. It is time. Everything flows out of the present moment. Everything flows into the stream of consciousness that lives in now; in the world that you live in your mind and in the choices that follow.
You have this beautiful life; it is yours. To live the most sacred moments is to be overwhelmed with gratitude and honor; honor as the dignity that prevails each time that you live in the blissful nature of your heart and open to love; open to all things beautiful and sacred and of meaning.
In the time and space of this life, the moral compass that you hold determines all things. It conveys to others how you run your life, what is important to you; what is the protocol and systems by which you live in, if you welcome the inspiration of others and if you seek to live inspired by noticing the musing that show up precisely as you need them.
The new consciousness is a new level of evolution that follows the simplest of practices and conditions. Remember that it begins with a choice; a free will choice in which to live as you continue to find your truth.
Join me as I share the three starting points to support what you need; and that provide the consciously driven and forward movement towards the infinite nature of life as you know it.
Sending you great love....

'Impermanence'| A Real Life Client Story
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Bonus Episode 1
The word impermanence describes the precious nature of each of life’s moments. Impermanence also reminds us of the fleeting nature of life. It reveals itself in the moments when we curiously wonder in relation to the day, the week; sometimes its a month or decade and ask, “Where has the time gone?”
The definition of impermanence is non permanent – transient - witnessed most accurately as the passage of time. It is the precious nature of life that reveals its simplicity; its fleeting power, yet significant moments that reveal what is priceless now and in each moment that we live - our attention to here and now.
My client Neela had just returned from a week visiting her parents on the east coast; her childhood home; and many unhappy memories that were weighted in sadness. For Neela it was the painful reminder of growing up with a Mother who was overly critical and restrictive of love.
Her father’s radiation treatment had been paused for a time; the prognosis was encouraging. He would continue to live indefinitely; the doctors speculated upwards of two years.
Impermanence is a way of deciding what we all must remember in order to appreciate life more; that each moment is here much like each single breath; its precious nature goes beyond the inflow of oxygen.
Breath is our passage from one moment to the next; from the moment that we first breathe of this world and every breath since that first moment; all of which are reminders of impermanence as life. Releasing exhaling breath is a beautiful metaphor so many of us never contemplate. To release breath is to set it free, to let go; to make space for the next in-breath in order to continue to live. You need the next moment as the next moment of your life; to live; to love; to rejoice in – for as long as you choose this.
The name of my client has been changed to maintain confidentiality. Her story is real.

Chakra WISDOM: Your Saharara Chakra
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 84
Welcome to this sacred journey into the chakras. Each of the seven major chakras that we explore together in this series, influence and govern accompanying areas of the body as well as emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual states that impact our path into the self.
The seventh chakra is our connection to our spiritual nature and our capacity to allow spirituality to guide us and to become an integral part of our physical lives. While our energy system as a whole is animated by our soul consciousness, the seventh chakra is directly aligned to seek an intimate relationship with the Divine. It is the chakra of prayer.
It is also the holding place (a state of inner grace) for the energy we amass through kind thoughts and actions, and through acts of faith and prayer. Our Sahasrara Chakra enables us to gain an intensity of internal awareness through meditation and prayer with infinite consciousness.
In your Sahasrara Chakra, you're suddenly able to be free of the constraints of your human brain (what I would call your thoughts, and the stories that you tell yourself and believe), and instead, to immerse yourself in the truth as you transcend and have a connection with the divine source. At this point in your spiritual awakening and development, you are called upon to rededicate your life to what you feel most important: to do what you love; to live in peace and harmony and to practice and teach this by example, to heal, to your spiritual growth and the spiritual growth of others. Take a moment now to think about why you are here and what you are dedicated to.
Here, as with the other episodes in this 7-part series, I take lead from the work of experts, one of whom is Carolyn Myss. She is a medical intuitive and one of my longtime favorite authors. Her book: ‘Anatomy of the Spirit. The Seven Stages of Power and Healing’ is a beautiful read of the chakra system and from where I directly quote and reference much of the teachings for the third chakra; our focus of this episode.
Be sure to take part in the guided meditation that closes out this episode. It is a beautiful experience in balancing the beautiful sacred energy of this chakra. 🧘♀️💜 Namaste!

Chakra WISDOM: Your Anja Chakra
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 82
Welcome to this sacred journey into the chakras. Each of the seven major chakras that we explore together in this series, influence and govern accompanying areas of the body as well as emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual states that impact our path into the self.
The chakras are vertically aligned, running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. At each stage we gain a more refined understanding of personal and spiritual power. Each chakra represents a spiritual life-lesson or challenge common to all human beings. Mastering the lessons inherent in each chakra, we gain wisdom, empowerment and self-knowledge that becomes integrated into our spirit, advancing us along our path towards spiritual consciousness.
The sixth chakra involves our mental and reasoning abilities, and our psychological skill at evaluating our beliefs and attitudes. Often referred to as the third eye or mind's eye, the Anja or brow chakra is the command center for your subtle body. Located just above and between your eyebrows, this chakra resonates to the energies of our psyches, our conscious and unconscious psychological forces.
Within Eastern spiritual literature, the sixth chakra is the spiritual center in which the interaction of mind and psyche can lead to intuitive sight and wisdom. Attention and meditation on this chakra bestow wisdom, clarity of vision and increased intuition, allowing you to begin to see life's bigger picture.
The Anja chakra presides over your mind and your sense of self. Although this chakra strictly speaking has no element associated with it, the mind could be thought of as the brow chakra's element, since the mind controls the senses and vital energy. Of all the chakras, the energy here has the most powerful effect on your personality.
This chakra is the seat of your judgment, your emotional intelligence and your notion of reality, rationality and wisdom.
Six spiritual 'powers' are associated with this chakra: (1) unobstructed meditation, (2) perfect concentration, (3) the ability to direct your undivided attention, (4) thought-control, (5) samadhi or the super-conscious state, (6) and the attainment of enlightenment.
Be sure to take part in the guided meditation that closes out this episode. It is a beautiful experience in balancing the beautiful sacred energy of this chakra. 🧘♀️💜 Namaste!

What's Beneath Your Anger?| A Real Life Client Story
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 81
A recent session with my client Hayley illuminated what we have all experienced; and what surfaced during our time together was the simplicity of what you can do to help yourself in situations where you feel an unwanted and uncomfortable emotion. In Hayley’s case, she identified it as agitation, irritation, and a growing feeling of anger.
I dove right in to the question: What’s beneath the anger? Hayley laughed and replied, “Good question!”
Sometimes we just need to stop for a moment and do a deep dive into our self. Our focus can be on getting through something or pushing past an emotion and we may not realize how important it is to stop and acknowledge our feelings. Hayley knew immediately why she was feeling unnerved and – her words: “unraveled”.
The name of my client has been changed to maintain confidentiality. Her story is real.

Chakra WISDOM: Your Vishuddha Chakra
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 80
Welcome to this beautiful series and a journey through the sacred centers of wisdom called chakras.
As I share the sacred wisdom of this fifth chakra, I lean to the resources of teachers that hold a wealth of knowledge in their study of these ancient energy centers. I have directly quoted and referenced their work throughout each of the episodes in this 7-part series and I do so again here. I will leave links in the description for where you can find their books. I am very grateful to each one of these wise women. Thank you Carolyn Myss, Dr. Brenda Davies, and Anodea Judith for your interpretation and collective gathering of this ancient wisdom.
Your VISHUDDHA CHAKRA: Your Communication Centre and The Power of Will
As we enter the etheric level of the throat chakra, we enter a paradoxical realm of great subtlety yet powerful influence. We leave behind the balanced middle ground of the emerald green anahata chakra and reach into the etheric range of turquoise and blue that resonate with the throat chakra.
The element of this chakra is akasha, a Sanskrit term that translates as “ether”, “limitless space” or “sky”. The enveloping element of air still surrounds us, yet we reach beyond it into the unknown ether – the realm of vibrations, sound, communication, and the awakening of creative identity. It is an awakening that stems from a realization of yourself as a separate being from your security in your social environment, and from your desire to make a personal contribution to the world around you.
Communication is the essential function of the fifth chakra. As self-expression, communication is a gateway between the inner world and the outer. Only through self-expression does the outer world get to know what is inside of us. And, we may only know what is inside of someone when they choose to tell us. (We trust they are speaking their truth and in complete honesty).
Be sure to take part in the guided meditation that closes out this episode. It is a beautiful experience in balancing the beautiful sacred energy of this chakra. 🧘♀️💜 Namaste!

Social Anxiety: What You Don't Want People to Notice| A Real Life Client Story
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 79
Have you ever felt anxious or awkward in social settings?
I explained to my client Kara that social anxiety is an experience that happens to us all.
An invitation to a party; work colleagues that you know fairly well but there is also a room of other people that you will have only just met. You arrive late and after a long shift at work; but in honesty you’ve been procrastinating as you got ready and secretly hoped that you could maybe just blow the party off; except you do want to go. When you arrive, everyone is already seated around a large dining table, eating, talking, laughing; and now all eyes are on you. You have difficulty breathing and making eye contact as the host introduces you to each person around the table. You wish you stayed home but everyone seems so friendly, well maybe everyone except her; the woman that staring you up and down. You’ve forgotten what you’ve just said to a question someone has asked, and you don’t know where you should sit and is that an open seat? ...and why is this so difficult?
These are some of the rapid fire thoughts that cross your mind as your heart is racing; pounding so loud that your own voice seems inaudible. You feel self-conscious; you should have worn the other outfit you had lying on your bed; you dressed up way too much compared with everyone else. What have you gotten yourself into?
Join me in this episode as we discuss:

Chakra WISDOM: Your Anahata Chakra
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 78
Welcome back to this sacred journey into the chakras.
The chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC – more than four thousand years ago in the ancient literature of the Vedas. Evidence of the chakras, is also found in the Upanishads, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and perhaps most thoroughly in the sixteenth century by an Indian yogi in a text called the Sat-Chakra-Nirupana.
The chakra system was taught orally by the Indo-Eurpoean people (also called the Aryan people). It was traditionally considered an Eastern philosophy until New Age authors, like Anodea Judith and others, resonated with this wisdom and began writing about the chakras.
If you’ve been joining me in this series, I hope that you’ve allowed yourself to explore the wisdom of these ancient energy centers; these spinning sacred wheels of life. They are believed to hold energetic space within us; and which link areas of the body and psyche with associated metaphysical realms.
Within each episode in this series, I describe how each chakra affects our psychology, and our emotions and behaviours as human beings. Based on the teachings of this ancient wisdom and the modern day authors who bring this wisdom to life, I share it because it is yet another important way to understand the self; your patterns and behaviours; and how you may help yourself unblock and balance the flow of energy that moves through you. You also begin to draw insights and a helpful perspective from the ancient wisdom of the chakras, including what limiting thoughts and beliefs hold you back from living the full expression of life.
Perhaps, most important still, my hope is to give you additional resources and another source of self-healing; for finding and thriving ‘in balance’, and for helping to effect the change you seek – within yourself and of your life.
As I share with you the teachings of your fourth chakra, I reference and take direct quotes from Anodea Judith’s book: Eastern Body Western Mind: Psychology and the Chakra System as a Path to the Self and the work of Carolyn Myss and her book: Anatomy of the Spirit. The Seven Stages of Power and Healing. I’ll link up their work here in the description; as both are esteemed experts in this field, and these are great reads if you wish to learn more.
A chakra is a center of organization that receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy. Based on their location in the body the chakras have become associated with various states of consciousness, archetypal elements, and philosophical constructs. The lower chakras, for example which are physically closer to the earth, are related to the more practical matters of our lives – survival, movement, action. They are ruled by physical and social law. The upper chakras represent mental realms and work on a symbolic level through words, images, and concepts. Each of the seven chakras from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, represents a major area of human psychological health.
Here we dive into your Anahata, your heart center. Since the heart chakra is the middle point in a system of seven centers, balance, together with love and relationship) are the essential principles at this level of integration. This implies both internal balance between various aspects of ourselves (mind and body, persona and shadow, masculine and feminine), as well as between ourselves and the world around us (for example: work and play, giving and receiving, socializing and being alone).
It is important to continue to find and live in equilibrium, for without balance within ourselves it is difficult, if not impossible, to achieve healthy and long-lasting love relationships. The basic right of the heart chakra is to love and to be loved.
Be sure to take part in the guided meditation that closes out this episode. It is a beautiful experience in balancing the beautiful sacred energy of this chakra. 🧘♀️💜 Namaste!

How Long Have You Waited For Love?| A Real Life Client Story
The WISDOM podcast S2 E77
For so many clients it is in that very first session that we chart a course for the journey deep within; a journey that is often overdue; a journey that will help free clients from what hurts and trauma have caused them to doubt in their ability to feel whole and of peace; a journey that safely guides them into healing, love, acceptance and approval for what was not given freely and without conditions ~ and of which they (sometimes unknowingly), are now ready to give to themselves.
How Long Have You Waited For Love?
We are beginning to understand that love must be willingly given to our self ~ that we cannot thrive in the absence of it and we do not need to wait for someone to love us to feel loved.
Love as a feeling and a state of being that is experienced out of living in self-love.
Each one of us is equipped to love and to give love ceaselessly. We are all hard wired for this ~ to love yourself and to love others and to do this as the love of one human being to another.
It may be that we need to practice self-love ~ to first learn it and to be reminded of the ways that we already do this.
The experience of love directed inward is how we reclaim our power and our wholeness.
To direct love inward through words and actions of loving-kindness is how we walk the planet in perfect oneness; feeling attuned with our ability to feel loved.
Here I share the story of my client Sara* and her partner Dana* and the many self-sacrifices that Sara made in order to keep the relationship even as it became strife and emotional turmoil ~ in tact.
*The names here have been changed to maintain confidentiality. My client’s story is real.

The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 76
Welcome to this beautiful series and a journey through these sacred centers of wisdom called chakras.
Each of the seven major chakras that we explore in this series, influence and govern accompanying areas of the body as well as the emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual states that impact our path into the self.
On a physical level, these spirals of energy correspond to massive nerve centers in the body. Each of the seven main chakras contain bundles of nerves and relates to major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. Since everything is moving, it’s essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid. If there is a blockage, energy simply cannot flow and we can literally feel stuck in life.
The Symbolic Power of the Seven Chakras
Each of the seven energy centers of the human body contains a universal spiritual life lesson that we must learn as we evolve into higher consciousness. I take lead from the work of Carolyn Myss, one of my longtime favorite authors and someone whose work I followed early in my own spiritual development. Her book: Anatomy of the Spirit. The Seven Stages of Power and Healing. is another beautiful read of the chakra system and from where I directly quote and reference much of the teachings for the third chakra; our focus in this episode.
I’ll drop a link for it in the description. It is a classic. If you wish to read more on your third chakra, please check out the reading list I have prepared in the description.
Be sure to take part in the guided meditation that closes out this episode. It is a beautiful experience in balancing the beautiful sacred energy of this chakra. 🧘♀️💜 Namaste!

Who Do I Really Want To Be?| A Real Life Client Story
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 75
To awaken begins the inner journey; a flurry of questions that ponder a deeper longing, that begin to highlight and address what needs to improve; to change; perhaps to end, in order that you may be content and happy, and at peace.
When your questions become a source of deeper longing for change; and of what is both needed and important for you now and for the rest of your life... it is time to know your answers.
Jon’s questions center around a theme of self-examination and the desire for change. It is usually our dissatisfaction and unhappiness with one or more aspects of our self and thus impacting the quality of our life; that makes change necessary.
We can continue to live – and sometime we do – indefinitely – hoping and likely also working to fix or change a situation, a relationship, or how another person treats us; yet in the end, you have control only over yourself: your thoughts and perceptions, how you feel and your actions and reactions.
You are self-governing. If your life situations or a particular person is contributing to your disharmony and sadness, I encourage you to find your solution; to no longer continue in the pain and suffering of what is not fulfilling nor kind and loving.
Begin to ask the questions that will help guide you towards truth and the right solutions that you can then act upon with growing confidence.
It is only when you are no longer willing to continue on a path that is detrimental; that imposes suffering; that happiness can be found again.
Ideally, the goal is to continue to make healthy adjustments and to auto correct all the time. To adjust and reposition, to amend and re-calibrate what you are doing or not doing means that you do not ‘find’ yourself in a situation that is heartbreaking and difficult because you are self-aware and awake.
As you experience yourself in the present moments of your life; and simultaneously a witness to what you see and sense, you are able to determine through self-awareness, what you need and how you need to be. “You fix a problem with the solution; and not by focusing on the problem.”
Ask the deeper questions. Be willing to hear your answers. This helps you to live in your truth. This is the first step to solving a problem; to finding the best solution; to navigating a path and a strategy that will always help you.
Sometimes clients will email me questions. For some clients, our entire session is communicated in an exchange of emails. Such is the case of my client Jon. Next, I share my email reply together with more questions for him to probe deeper. Jon’s real name has been changed to maintain confidentiality.

Chakra WISDOM: Your Swadhisthana Chakra
The WISDOM podcast Season 2 Episode 74
Welcome to this beautiful series and a journey through these sacred centers of wisdom called chakras.
As we dive into the realm of our second chakra, we encounter emotions and sexuality. Where the first chakra centers around survival and structure, the focus here is all about movement, creativity, and flow. The Sacral Chakra or Swadhisthana governs the energy of creativity, pleasure, sex, procreation, control and morality. It also presides over dreams and fantasies.
The second chakra is located in the lower abdomen. The color of this chakra is bright orange. Its glow fills the pelvis, bathing the sexual organs, enlivening our desire and capacity for pleasure.
As I share the sacred wisdom of this Chakra, I lean to a wonderful book titled: The Rainbow Journey: Seven Steps to Self-Healing, Dr. Brenda Davies. Years earlier, I would find a used copy of this book. It was very worn and the spine had let go, and yet I saw it as a ‘sweet’ find and it continues to be a wonderful resource and guide to the chakra system. I’ll leave a link for it in the description.
I purposefully use the word ‘sweet’ as the Sanskrit word Swadhisthana has many translations – ‘the sacred home’, ‘the sweet place’ and ‘the goddess’ favorite standing place” because here at the second chakra it is about allowing pleasure and joy in the many experiences of life.
As I share with you the teachings of this Chakra, I also reference and take direct quotes from Anodea Judith’s book: Eastern Body Western Mind: Psychology and the Chakra System as a Path to the Self and I’ll link up her work here for you also, as she is an esteemed expert in the Chakras.
Be sure to take part in the guided meditation that closes out this episode. It is a beautiful experience in balancing the beautiful sacred energy of this chakra. 🧘♀️💜 Namaste!
