The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 93
“In the grace of all of life, oneness is the experience of now in the pure presence of stillness.” ~ dorothy zennuriye juno

This is also a low guidance which means that you will have space and silence between my directives in which to simply explore and experience and to allow it what impressions and ideas arise.
This bliss meditation is to inspire and encourage what is revealed to you in and of the experience of stillness. The practice of asana is to help you deepen your presence to the oneness that exists in the perfection of now.
Bliss meditations are my signature meditative experiences to help you feel and know a connection with divine oneness. If you have been yearning to know the divine, if you are seeking the path of true liberation from the mind’s internal dialogue, this bliss meditation is to help you awaken in the present space and time of now and in the stillness that transcends the physical world – and offering you love and patience to all that is of pure positive energy of your highest self.
This practice is of the yogic teaching of the sutras and asana the seat of meditation or posture here as you cultivate awareness to the perfection of stillness moment by moment ~ in body and mind.
Enjoy this!
Sending you great 💜 love...

~ infinite surrender ~
Engage Fully With Life ~ Live Unstoppable
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 90
“ What do you give your pranidhana (your surrender) to? ”
💜
Ishvara pranidhana is the practice of fully surrendering the self to God, Life Force, to the divine – to the infinitely intelligent consciousness of the universe – to source energy – to whatever chosen word or groupings of words you use to describe the most infinite good ~ and then to know that this eternal good lives in you. It is what you are.
All of the practices of the Niyamas lead us here ~ into the knowledge that we surrender and trust in our infinite nature because we are the god source ~ we are pureness and love. We simply need to choose this ~ and to choose to live as this.
Surrender to a oneness ~ an infinite consciousness ~ as the surrender of devotion to living as your highest self.

This is also a low guidance which means that you will have space and silence between my directives in which to simply explore and experience and to allow it what impressions and ideas arise.
In this bliss meditation, I invite you to hold the impressions that you receive immediately and instinctively as the idea and intention is for you to connect with the highest source of wisdom that you hold within yourself ~ your highest self ~ your soul consciousness.
Bliss meditations are my signature 'feel the love, hold abundance, seek comfort and safety and presence and manifest all possibilities.' They are an exquisite experience of the divine and all sacred moments of the present.
It is best if you note the initial impressions that come to you from your spiritual self and hold these in your mind and heart, anchoring them to your knowledge and growing wisdom so that you may return to these often and as you meditate again with the image(s) that you receive here.
To know the self is beyond knowing the physical. We can almost never know every physical aspect that is occurring in synchronous harmony. We can know the purest aspects of what we are and then to deliberately hold our gratitude towards this.
I will also encourage you to make some notes after the meditation. To record what you see, feel, sense.
Enjoy this!

spiritual discipline as a daily practice
~ towards personal fulfillment ~
'ask dorothy'
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 87
~ What are your spiritual practices? ~
💜
A topic dear to my heart. The idea of developing and living daily spiritual practices or disciplines is how we deepen our commitment to live of our highest self and of our light.
This episode has been inspired by a recent live session. You can find and join me in future 'live' sessions. I would love that.
Spiritual discipline is the embodiment of grace and the resolve to live in loving-kindness in words, thoughts, and in actions ~ in who you are and what you stand for.
A spiritual practice or discipline is a product of a synergy between divine and human initiative.
It is the regular actions and activities for the purpose of inducing or creating spiritual experiences and cultivating spiritual development.
This episode is therefore really meant to offer inspiration to you, to encourage you to follow a path that inspires you because inspiration is the flow of pure consciousness that you invite in ~ that you relish ~ that truly affects and transforms ~ that initiates the desire to witness the sacred, the spiritual the world beyond what you would typically see and touch and notice because this is how we come to know the perfection of life that we can live in each moment and wherever we are.
One question towards beginning or elevating your current spiritual life is this: Ask yourself...
What are the spiritual practices (or disciplines) that cultivate love, presence and equanimity for you?
Your answers will lead you to the joy and the abundance is waiting for you.
Invite this in. This is how we live fulfilled in our daily life.
And if you would like my help in creating or creating more spiritual practices and disciplines to love and live please reach out to me. 💜

Self-Discipline as Self-Mastery
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 86
“ Self-Discipline IS Self-Mastery. Being disciplined is how we get things done. ”
💜
Do any of your desires require greater discipline, self-control, or the fierce passion and unrelenting belief in what is wanted?
We need to remember ~ to remind ourselves that self-discipline is also a guiding approach to everything.
It is holding belief in our ability to manifest ~ to obtain or achieve something that we do not yet see or taste or touch in our material world and it is also the energy we bring to everything that determines our role in what we do and what we live.
If you are at the edge of a precipice in your life – if something is wanted and perhaps you’ve been struggling with this, whether a goal or a new habit or a different way of thinking and being and if you haven’t yet been able to get there, let’s walk through some of the ways that you can approach your desires with the inner fire of discipline.
And I’m also going to share one simple and powerful way that will help you get started ~ now.
But first....a few more questions to help you contemplate what is wanted in a very clear way.
What can you draw from that allows you to feel impassioned with life and with the aspects of your life that you wish to focus upon?
Where can you hold fierce discipline and simultaneously the benevolence (a devotion to do good and to be loving kindness) of living with your heart open to give and receive?
~ Tapas are spiritual practices that often involve a high degree of self-discipline, solitude and periods of deep meditation. ~
Because discipline works best if you are kind and patient yet firm and loving with yourself throughout the process.
What becomes for you a new and refined practice of discipline may be best practised as a spiritual discipline ~ as something that is acquired out of love and servitude to yourself for a higher goal or purpose that is beyond you ~ that is bigger than you...
and the way in which you can approach all of life then becomes a practice of grace.

DHARANA ~ Focus The Mind With The Heart
The Sixth Limb of The Yoga Sutras
'ask dorothy' | Q & A
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 69
~ “Focus your mind where your heart lives far more of the time.” ~
💜
Dharana, a Sanskrit word meaning concentration is the sixth limb of yoga in the Ashtanga yoga system—also called the eight-limbed path. The goal of dharana is to bind your consciousness to one particular object, activity, place, or idea.
As we explore further the sixth limb of the yoga sutras – and how specifically to apply the teachings of dharana, in this episode of ‘ask dorothy’ I would like to offer something quite extraordinary ~ to practice dharana engaging your heart wisdom.
What if you practiced the one-pointed focus of dharana of complete and deliberate concentration as you align both your heart and mind toward any of your heart’s desires ~ and to all things ~ that are most wanted?
We do this quite naturally as a function of our heart’s outpouring of desire.
If there is something important that you want that you want, you hold focus and place your attention on your desire and you also engage the physical steps needed to attain this.
Now what if you cultivated the magic and the discipline of one-pointed focus, allowing the heart’s wisdom to guide and influence what you want to manifest.
Let your mind engage with your heart’s true desire. This is how to focus the mind on only what is wanted.
Sending you great 💜 love...

PRATYAHARA ~ Awareness of the Senses ~
The Fifth Limb of The Yoga Sutras
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 65
~ See without the senses distracting or pulling the mind, ~
💜
*Pratyahara is the fifth limb of yoga in the Ashtanga yoga system—also called the eight-limbed path of the yoga sutras—and it serves as a foundation for the practice of meditation.
Through meditation, you can better understand how to hone your awareness, connect to the present moment, and find inner peace or calm.
In the practice of pratyahara you draw your mind inward ~ you release the urge to immediately react to incoming sensation. You approach stilling the mind by shifting the act of sensing from an external to an internal orientation.
Through the practice of pratyahara, you develop concentrative powers that could be called supra ~ above sensory because the act of seeing or feeling becomes heightened to a tremendous degree. It is as though you have new eyes and ears, new senses. You perceive colour more vividly and enjoy your food more, and as you truly wake your senses, you awaken to and value the inner psychological and spiritual dimensions that are the substance and source of what you feel, see, taste, smell and hear.
Your attention in the practice of pratyahara is directed inwards, being totally aware of where the impulse to breathe in and breathe out arises. The total awareness of this itself is pratyahara – or drawing one’s attention into and within oneself.
I liken this to what I call a state of bliss. And yes it is a state of being that you can live in as you practice pratyahara ad as you seek to live this state more of the time – especially during the practice of meditation, mindfulness, inner contemplation, presence in this moment.
Join me for this beautiful exploration of the fourth limb of the Yoga Sutras ~ PRATYAHARA.

Waiting to Exhale ~ PRANAYAMA
'ask dorothy' | Q & A
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 64
~ Pranayama breathing guides us into the ease of pure existence. ~
💜
Do you ever catch yourself holding your breath? Perhaps in anticipation, in anxiety, in the realization that something is not going as you had hoped?
Maybe your hold your breath when you think about what magic lives in store for you and your future - like when you daydream and wish and manifest your heartfelt desires?
Pranayama is a Sanskrit word formed by two words. Prana means a subtle life-force / ‘vital energy’ / ‘breath of life’ which gives energy to the mind and body (it is also translated as the substance of the astral world) and ayama which signifies the voluntary effort to expand, lengthen and direct life-force or prana.
Pranayama, therefore, means “extension of life force.”
Waiting to exhale is the other side of waiting to enjoy life’s precious moments because you are focused in the end goal rather than the entire journey and what more you seek and learn from the total sum of your experiences.
The lessons are the magic. They are the ways in which life avails to us the importance of our path ~ of the miracles that continue ceaselessly all around us and in all moments and with our conviction.
What are you waiting for?
What are you wishing to change or have or be that seems far reaching and yet perfect for you to discover and experience now? The perfect basis of your beautiful nature lives inside of you. To seek and know it is the essence of life in its truest form.
Sending you great 💜 love...

PRANAYAMA ~ Extension of Life Force ~
The Fourth Limb of The Yoga Sutras Part 1/2
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 63
~ Pranayama breathing guides us into the ease of pure existence. ~
💜
Pranayama is a Sanskrit word formed by two words. Prana means a subtle life-force / ‘vital energy’ / ‘breath of life’ which gives energy to the mind and body (it is also translated as the substance of the astral world) and ayama which signifies the voluntary effort to expand, lengthen and direct life-force or prana.
Pranayama, therefore, means “extension of life force.”
Pranayama is essentially a process by which prana is controlled by regulating the breathing voluntarily. It involves a temporary pause or interval in the movement of breath.
The practice of pranayama according to the sutras helps in transforming the total personality by clearing mental obstructions, purifying the subtle channels (nadis) with prana flow, awakening dormant vital forces in the body, focusing attention, developing concentration and improving overall health and vitality.
Pranayama aims primarily at controlling the mind and suspending the mental activity and ego-consciousness in order to bring about a still mind. When the mind still and the breathing calm, the inner light of the true self shines radiantly.
The light of the self is always pure even though it is affected by the filters of the mind. When the filters (belief systems, mindset, thought, biases) are removed – as it is a state of pure awareness – there is only one pure light ~ the true self.
Join me for this beautiful exploration of the fourth limb of the Yoga Sutras ~ PRANAYAMA.

Self-Study IS Liberation
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 56
~ "gnōthi seauton" ~ Know Thyself ~
💜
In this episode of ‘ask dorothy’ I answer the question: What are the characteristics and traits of those who self-actualize and who live in liberation and the freedom to be all that they can and more?
If you are here and listening, this is for you.
We live in a society and a world in which we are taught to look outside of our self for answers, for authority, for validation, for friendship, for community; for the ideals that we are taught to strive for and the timeline for accomplishing what is deemed acceptable.
Nowhere is our heart more certain than when we have found another who loves and adores us.
The gaze is always external. Even when we are asked to know ourselves, we still compare what we see with what we perceive to be the inspired ideal.
Self-actualization can be misrepresented. We may have an idea and an image of what it means to experience a state of being in which we have arrived. We are here. We are complete.
Self-actualized people have an acceptance of who they are, including what I call ‘the ego mind’ ~ the human construct that at times pulls us in to the limited ways in which we think and act and which create our suffering.
When you are self-actualized you experience a drive to be creative in all aspects of your life. This is in fact how you thrive.
Sending you great 💜 love...

SVADHYAYA ~ Self-Study ~
The Niyamas Series: 4 of 5
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 55
~ The world gives you what you see. ~
💜
In this week’s episode we dive into the discipline of self-study and why this is necessary for self-fulfillment, epic growth, and personal freedom.
Here I share the steps for self-study and the ways in which we can experience our perceptions to invite us deeper into ourselves with love and grace and appreciation and for learning how capable we are.
The Sanskrit word for this is svadhyaya. Sanskrit is the world’s oldest language and it is the ancient and the classic language of India.
'Self-study' or Svadhyaya refers to knowing our true identity as divine consciousness. Think of it like this: This means that you already are ‘good enough’ capable, and perfect as you are.
Svadhyaya is the fourth of 5 Niyamas or observances that originate in the ancient text of the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali.
The Yoga Sutras or ‘threads’ (as this word translates from Sanskrit) are a collection of 196 short verses that serve as a guide to attain wisdom and self-realization on how to live in order to advance along a spiritual path towards enlightenment.
Beyond the postures of yoga, the scripture of the yoga sutras provides the disciplines and observances that guide you in a practical and sacred methodology – to bring greater understanding to your life experiences and the guidance for taking ownership of your life, directing it towards the fulfillment that you seek.
In this episode I cite and also quote directly from Deborah Adele’s book: . From my research and study of the Yamas and the Niyamas, I’ve found Deborah’s book to be thoroughly enjoyable to read and I love how she has woven personal stories and other wisdom teachings throughout. I will leave a link here for how you can get a copy.
The yogis teach that we, as human beings, are at our core ~ divine consciousness.
Around this pure consciousness we have been impacted by our varied experiences, our conditioning, and our belief systems. This changes the way in which we see and identify ourselves, what we believe to be true, our preferences and dislikes, and our fears ~ and imagination.
If you think about the various layers that we hold ~ each informed by country, culture, gender, family history, the groups we belong to, and our personal experiences, it becomes difficult to remember who we truly are.
Who you are is the god consciousness. You don’t need to pray to a god outside of you. You simply need to be your god consciousness far more of the time ~ to live this ~ and to realize how incredible you are as your goodness.
The yogis tell us that we suffer because we forget who we are. We forget that we are really the divine.
Svadhyaya or self-study is about knowing our true identity and understanding the experiences that have shaped us. We find clues to this by watching our projections, tracing our reactions back to a belief we hold, and by courageously looking at life as it is.
This process of knowing ourselves creates a path to freedom. The ability to shift the way in which we identify ourselves from our ego to being a witness, and finally to our true identity as the divine itself is what svadhyaya – calls the joy of self-study.
I close out the episode with the practical ways to embrace the teaching of Svadhyaya. Please join me!
Please consider a practice of self-study. Leave a note for me here! Share with me what you are learning in your devotion inward.

SANTOSHA ~ Contentment ~
The Niyamas Series: 2 of 5
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 51
~ "Contentment is falling in love with your life.” - Swami Rama ~
💜
Welcome to this series on the Niyamas. Niyama is Sanskrit for “rules, guidelines, or observances.” Niyamas appear in Hindu and Buddhist texts, and they are best known as the second limb of the eight limbs of yoga, as described in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.
In Indian traditions, particularly Yoga, Niyamas and their complement, Yamas, are recommended activities and habits for healthy living, spiritual enlightenment, and a liberated state of existence.
The five niyamas the focus of this series ~ are constructive tools for cultivating happiness and self-confidence; the opportunity to practice and live in the balance of each of these arises in almost every moment day.
The five Niyamas are practices to be nurtured and cultivated. They will remain with us throughout our lives taking us ever deeper into the subtle realms of our being, moving us closer to the stillness inside.
The Niyamas as spiritual and practical teachings lead us beyond the body (in our activity and our asanas) and our mind (in meditation). Without them, samadhi ~ a state of joyful calm, or even of rapture and beatitude, in which one maintains full mental alertness and acuity ~ would be an impossible dream.
I also invite to check out my 5-part series on the Yamas next. These are moral disciplines that transcend all world religions as guiding us to live of our light and our highest self. I will leave links for this series in the description.
In this episode I cite and also quote directly from Deborah Adele’s book: The Yamas and Niyamas. Exploring Yoga’s Ethical Practice. Her wise words guide us into the practical and the spiritual as we explore the significance of the focus of this episode and the niyama santosha or “contentment” as well as “delight, happiness, joy.”
Santosha invites us into contentment by taking refuge in a calm centre, opening our hearts in gratitude for what we do have, and practising the paradox of ‘not seeking’.
'Not seeking' as not needing to be seeking and grasping whilst missing out on what is right in front of us ~ and often what is pure perfection.
While there is always a place and a need to look forward and plan the future, it is equally important to measure this with the balance of enjoying what is right here and now and directly in front of us. This is how we cultivate contentment for ‘what is’.
Along with getting ready for the next thing we seek, we tend to look at people’s lives and then decide what is missing from our own, rather than appreciate what we have.
When we compare ourselves to others and envy them, we move ourselves into a state of lack and disappointment. This moves us further away from feeling contentment, complete, and whole.
Contentment arises out of acceptance—of life, of ourselves, and of whatever life is offering to us in the present.
If you live the practice of Santosha ~ life would instantly be happier, easier, better, and with far more freedom to enjoy ‘what is’.
When we are content, we are happy. Thus—and here is the practice of this niyama—through the power of contentment, happiness becomes our choice.
Please join me in this beautiful practice. Send me a note! Let me know how you are living the practice of santosha in your life.
Sending you great 💜 love...

ASTEYA ~ Non-stealing ~
The Yamas Series: 3 of 5
The WISDOM podcast Season 3 Episode 43
~ If you have everything and if you have the ability to have everything, you will never be in need. ~
💜
Welcome to this episode and the third of a five-part series on the yamas. Yamas are the first limb of yoga in the Ashtanga yoga system.
The literal translation of the word Yama in Sanskrit is “restraint”. Religious texts of Hinduism and Jainism outline five yamas.
In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, asteya is described as the emptiness that is caused by a deep loss, unfulfilled desire, and the resulting lack or insecurity, jealousy or resentment that we focus on rather than looking inward ~ which always guides us to what we can and still need to do to support our well being; and to feel fulfilled, content, peaceful, and joyful.
According to the teachings in the Yoga Sutra (2.37), when we perfect the principle of asteya, riches comes to us. Although material wealth may unexpectedly appear when we need it, true spiritual wealth comes when we’re complete and whole within ourselves.
We don’t need to envy or take from others – whether in their time, their energy, or to seek attention and approval in order to feel good about ourselves.
We can rest in the unconditional love and wisdom that resides within us and experience the wholeness of our true self.
From this sense of inner fulfillment, we naturally want to give to others rather than to take from them.
Sending you great 💜 love...
